Group photo - end of work day #2

Water brings life to the ministry

The well drillers began the process of digging a well on the Mount Horeb site today.  There is a beautiful stream that runs through the back of the camp and we prayed that the well drillers would find water to provide life to the ministries at Mount Horeb.

Start of Work Day #1

Missionary House floor plan

Here is the floor plan of the house we are building: 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, kitchen and living area. This is a bit larger than what we normally build, plus has interior walls, and we are running electrical wires and plumbing pipes as we go up.

Departing RDU

Commissioning Service

The Commissioning of the Honduras Mission Team (responsive)

LEADER: Genuine faith is revealed in acts of service and love, a willingness to be vulnerable and walk in the way of the cross. Tomorrow members of our church family will travel to Honduras to reveal this kind of faith.

PEOPLE: We pray God’s blessings upon John Baldwin, Joel Brown, Steve Brown, Tom Childrey, Dennis Ellis, Kristen Ellis, Bud Hipp, Bob Kimball, Keith Lewis, Ron McCollum, Dudley Neal, Steve Paschall, Mike Satterfield, and Tommy Stone. May they go in the power of God’s Spirit, may the people among whom they serve see Jesus in them, and may they discover something new about God’s purpose in their lives.

LEADER: Not all of us will go on this journey but those who do represent not only Jesus but this community as well. They serve as an extension of this church family.

PEOPLE: Therefore, we pray for their work and witness, for the relationships they will build, for the ways in which our extended family will be enlarged and enriched.

LEADER: May those who go realize that you are not alone on this journey. God is with you and so are we. May you also recognize your true identity as God’s hands and feet.

MISSIONARIES: In the words of Mother Teresa, we will be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in our faces,

kindness in our eyes, kindness in our smiles, kindness in our warm greetings. In places of great need we will be the light of God’s kindness to the poor. To children, to the poor, to all who suffer and are lonely, we will always give a happy smile. We will give not only our care, but also our hearts.

Monte Horeb Mission Site

Honduras Mission Trip - Year 11

Our 11th year of mission trips to Honduras begins on Monday morning, Jan 26, 2015.  Our project this year will be to build the missionary house at the new Monte Horeb site outside of Choluteca, Honduras.  Our team this year includes Bob Kimball, John Baldwin, Joel Brown, Steve Brown, Tom Childrey, Dennis Ellis, Kristen Ellis, Bud Hipp, Keith Lewis, Ron McCollum, Dudley Neal, Steve Paschall, Mike Satterfield, and Tommy Stone.

From our leader, Steve Brown, "Please spend some special time in prayer this week for our team and trip:  pray for health and safety, our Honduran support team, Mike and Ginger, success for our project, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit with us throughout our trip (a must for any true success), and our families at home."

Buenos dias Honduras!
